"Whoa, what is this?" Cloud stared in the publication.
"Cloud! Get your spiky ass into movement! That submarine's going to depart!"
Cloud couldn't hear Barret. The publication enwrapped him, it appeared ancient, like from another world. It was bizarre to find, as Enemy's normally morph into regular items, perhaps not some outdated novel.
"CAAloud! Itself will not be stopped by that huge materia! Hurry up!"
Cloud broke in the publication's enchantment. He looked up at Cid's grizzled aged face.
"What the hell you look'in at that publication? We gotta go!"
Cloud was nevertheless a bit dazed when ha said, "Yeah... Enormous Materia..." they hurried on to capture the sub.

Some time afterwards, it had been determined by Cloud and Barret to see Marlene in Midgar. Cloud carried round the publication he morphed from the cryptic ghost ship just like a diary, reading regular, trying to figure out its puzzle.
"Cloud," Red XIII asked, "wouldn't it be better if we landed near Kalm rather than flying directly into Midgar? Shinra will understand that we're in the slums if we fly right exterior."
"Your proper. Head for Kalm. We'll devote the evening there and then enter Midgar."
"I will look around." Cloud said when the celebration reached the hostel, "perhaps talk to some of the locals."
As the centerpiece reactor was observed by Cloud, an old man walked up and stared at Clouds cryptic book. "Pardon me, but may I see that novel of yours son?"
"What, this oldtimer? Sure, I found it... uh..."
"Do not worry me about where you found it, equally as long as I can see it."
"Sure."
Cloud felt generous. He given the book over along with it was searched by the man over.
"WHY, this it! The Guidebook! BOY, I'll give you a few uncommon materia for this here novel!"
"Actually? Sure. I do not mind losing it. What materia?"
The man looked straight into Cloud's eyes.
"Underwater materia. Strong things." The man reached out his hand and gave Cloud the purple orb.
Cloud stared in to its center. It gave off a beautiful purple glow.

Cloud set the underwater materia in a open slot on his Ragnorak.
After thanking the old man he drifted to the tavern and took a seat.
"The special."
"Come'in right upward. Tony, special!"
Cloud pulled out his materia and stared at it when two troopers walked to the pub.
"Joe, round of java and allow it to be fast!"
"Started using it. Tony, two cups of espresso and allow it to be fast!"
The soldiers sat down in a table behind Cloud. Cloud attempted to hide his wanted face, but he had been noticed by the soldiers when they'd came in.
"Here ya go son. 10 gil."
The meal didn't appear appetizing enough for that much cash, but Cloud handed the bar tender the cash so as never to make a scene. He were only available in on what looked edible when the troopers came up to the tavern and sat on both sides of him.
"Joe, what's taking so long with that specific coffee, huh? this service is quite bad do not ya believe?" he said, eyeing Cloud.
"Hmm... maybe not that bad..."
"Hey, have I seen you before son? Ever been down near Midgar?" the soldier on his correct asked.
"Hmm... perhaps once." Cloud understood they had him cornered.
"Here's your coffee." The bartender said setting mugs in the troopers faces.
"Wait a moment, your debt us a round of java, Cloud."
Cloud ran outdoors as well as the soldiers followed. Cloud pulled out his Ragnorak, as they circled the reactor. They troopers trained, shot and hit a wall, then Cloud came in double-cuttin' them both, but dropped his underwater materia. A man who had watched the whole thing ran up and grabbed it and checked out it.

"Ummm... I assume I will need to figure it out, will not I?" Cloud snatched it in the stranger's hand and turned away.
"You might never determine it out. You ever see any one of those "Arms" Monsters?"
"Weaponry? It will help against Arms? Which one?" The man gave Cloud a sly look.
