Bakker and Post update — Analytical Groundwater Modeling with Jupyter Book Edition

The Jupyter book Edition of "Analytical Groundwater Modeling" is out! The book is hosted on the Groundwater Project and is an open-access, digital version of the 2022 printed version of the book, enhanced with interactive figures and animations. The Jupyter book facilitates easy copying of the Python code to your own Python script for further exploration, and is hosted in the Interactive Education section of the Groundwater Project. If you rather read a paper book, the printed version is available (currently at a discount) from this link.

Bakker and others release TimFlow Python solver for multi-layer flow

TimFlow combines the packages TimML and TTim into one package — running an existing TimML or TTim model is handled by an import statement. The names of several elements have been changed to be more descriptive (for example, HeadLineSinkString is now RiverString), but the old names still work (you get a Deprecation warning). There are also innovative new elements such as TargetHeadWell, WellString, RadialCollectorWell, and BuildingPit. TimFlow is free and open-source. Check it out at github.com/timflow-org/timflow or simply install with PyPI.

AnAqSim partnership with Practical Groundwater and McLane Environmental

Fitts Geosolutions (USA) has teamed with Practical Groundwater to work on AnAqSim jointly. The releases include improvements in computational performance and in outputs and features. Visit the homepage at anaqsim.com.

The AnAqSim instructional series by McLane Environmental offers self-paced exercise sets for beginners and advanced modelers, including new QGIS tools for basemap and model input file setup.
